The story of my proposal is very sweet and something I will treasure forever. Doug and I had booked our big European tour almost a year in advance. Finally August 2009 came and we were packed and ready to go. The first stop on our tour was none other than Paris, city of luurve! We had been walking the city all day looking at all of the beautiful sights, the Louvre, Champs D'Elyse, Sacre Coeur etc. One of our final stops was climbing the Arc de Triomphe. I wasn't too keen on climbing to the top, we had been walking a lot and thought I'd just hang out while Doug and a few others on our tour went to the top. Doug convinced me he would make it 'worth my while'. I agreed and followed everyone to the top. If you have ever been you will know of the litte platform you stand on to get a photo trying to pinch the Eiffel Tower in the background. We joined the line and swapped cameras with our friends to take a few memorable shots. Little did I know how memorable that shot would be! It got to our turn and Doug said. "You know we need a good story to go with this photo...like the time I asked you to marry me!" He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. That was it for me, I was shaking and crying and absolutely blown away. There was quite a crowd around us who were all cheering and applauding. It was so beautiful and surreal. After remembering to finally say yes we went and celebrated at a lovely little bar on the Champs D'Elyse with our new friends. What a fantastic day! We are getting married this year on 4th September 2010, exactly 1 year since that amazing proposal.
