Joss and I met when we were in school together and had been friends for a long time when we finally realised that we should be together.
When we finally got our act together it wasn't long until we knew that this was it for us, we were meant to be together, we had talked and talked about getting married, and although I knew it was coming, it
was killing me to not know when!!!
On my 22nd birthday Joss took me out for dinner, I used to work at the local steak house, and I loved the food there, so that's were he took me, he had been teasing and joking that today might be the day, and although I thought "yeah right he is just stirring me up" I couldn't help but be on the edge of my seat all night.
Joss knew that if it was to be tonight, I really didn't want him to propose in the restaurant that I had worked in for years, it's just not that romantic when it has been your workplace!!! So the whole night he was pulling things out of his pockets just to make me squirm!!
By the end of the meal I was a nervous wreck!!! And as we headed off home I said “lets drop in to see Mum and Dad" as I hadn't seen then yet for my birthday. While we were there, I ducked down to check some things on the computer, which is in my old bedroom at my parents place, Joss came in behind me and said " Will you marry me possum" (possum is his nickname for me) not looking behind me, I thought he was stirring me up again and said, "Bugger off, stop teasing me" and then turned around to see him on his knee with the ring that I had designed, and he had had made for me. My comment was quickly followed with an " oh my god sorry!! And yes, yes I will!!" and many tears.
It was so special to be there in my old bedroom at my mum and dads, and we all cried and had a champers and celebrated the best birthday ever!!!
Joss and I married on our 3 year anniversary, January 30th 2010, in a garden ceremony and it was amazing!! The best day of our lives.
