Maybe one of the big stresses of getting married is fusing not just two hearts and lives, but two families. I have been to weddings where the families of the bride and groom could not be more different and you could assume that this would be the the only big bash they ever attended as a group.
Eben describes the union of our familes to the meeting of complimentary tribes and he say's "I just don't ours to be a wedding where the two families look like they don't belong in the same room, let alone on the same table." I think there are plenty of movies about scenarios like that that; scary wedding comedies like 'Meet The Parents'!
So, I am so relieved that both our families are pretty laid back and quite similar in their approach. And they are involved in a way that is touching. Just the other day my dad signed up for The Knot. So, Dad if you are reading this...HI! And I am so happy knowing you are going to enjoy our day as much as we are.
