Now all the nuts and bolts of our wedding are close to sorted I actually get to stop and realize that we are actually getting married. As opposed to having a wedding. I think that realization is a very important one because you need to be comfortable with the "HUGE" aspects of this sort of public commitment. The message on our invitation captures both the light hearted and profound side of the way I feel about marrying Eben. It reads "Forever...It doesn't seem as long when you're with someone nice." And that's just how I feel, it's a calming reassurance to face life with someone.
Recently I switched jobs and Eben was right behind me. I doubt the success in gaining the new position would have been so smooth without him. Yes, we still hold hands under the table when we go out. But more than ever we feel up for an adventure together rather than apart. Eben put it in words beautifully when saying "nothing is permanent in life and everything could change but, at the end of it all, I've still got Kate." Knowing that makes the wedding day special and what lies beyond even more promising. See? It really isn't all about those Zanotti high heels!
